The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Atlanta Hawks 149-144 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, ending the opponents' four-game winning streak.

The two teams finished at such a high score without playing overtime because both shot to kill from downtown. They combined to knock down 41 triples out of 74 attempts. The Hawks had six players who reached double-digit points, including team-high 27 by De'Andre Hunter. The 26-year-old forward played no more than 19 minutes on the court, but went 10-for-12 from the field.

The Clippers led by as many as 13 points (43-30) in the second quarter. James Harden had a double-double of 30 points and 10 assists. Kawhi Leonard got 36 points after making 13 of his 20 field goal (FG) attempts. The Hawks couldn't even slow either down when they launched attacks in isolation.

However, the Clippers couldnt stop Trae Young or Dejounte Murray in the second half of Monday's game. Young contributed 11 points in the third period and drained a 3-pointer from the logo to ignite the home arena. He didn't shoot well from the field in the fourth quarter, but went 6-for-6 at the free throw line.

Murray missed eight of his 12 FGs in the first three periods, but still drained a series of big shots during the clutch time in the final quarter to add 12 points. When he made his second 3-pointer of the period, he cut the Hawks' deficit to one point (123-122). After that, Jalen Johnson made a layup to put their side on top 124-123 when there were five minutes left of the game.

The reasons why the Hawks failed to come back to win in that favorable situation were Leonard, Harden and Russell Westbrook. Leonard scored 13 points and three assists in the fourth quarter. Harden added 11 points and completed a four-point play on Young. Westbrook had seven points and provided remarkable defensive aggression with two steals and one block.

Having secured their 34th win of the season, the Clippers are currently third in the Western Conference and only half a game behind the leading team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kyrie Irving made his first appearance for the Mavericks in nearly two weeks, scoring 23 points and eight assists at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Monday. His side led by only three points (77-74) after the first three periods, but outscored the 76ers 41-28 in the final quarter by shooting 16-for-25 in FGs. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Grant Williams both added 10 points for the Mavericks in this period alone.

Stephen Curry went 4-for-11 outside the 3-point line at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, on Monday night, and he was the only Warrior who made shots there in this game. Nonetheless, the win was not very tough because his side completely dominated the paint and the board, leading 72-38 in points in the paint and 60-38 in total rebounds.

Jonathan Kuminga continued to shine for the Warriors on the offensive end. He made eight of his 13 attempts in the paint to get 28 points and 10 rebounds. The Nets studied his game and made some special defensive arrangements to contain him. However, Kuminga gave full play to his size, power and athleticism, forcing his way to the rim and produced excellent scoring efficiency there.
